Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about working with Little Farm, an approachable modern interior design studio serving all of Cape Cod: cost, process, timing, second homes, and more.
-
Little Farm is based in Falmouth, MA, and serves all of Cape Cod, from Bourne and Sandwich to Truro and Provincetown.
-
It's our point of view on design style: homes that feel fresh and up to date, but comfortable and warm, never stark. On the Cape that usually means a personal take on coastal style, expressed through color, materials, and texture that reflect our surroundings (not nautical clichés).
-
Most of our projects are priced as a fixed design fee for a defined scope, quoted after we've seen your home, usually during a Design Session. Furnishings are billed at standard retail pricing. Our Design Session, a 90-minute in-home consultation, is $375. Our Pricing page explains how it all works.
-
We offer a free 30-minute call to talk about your project's scope, timing, and budget, and to see if we're a good fit. Contact us to set up a call to discuss your project. For hands-on design advice in your home, book a Design Session.
-
We take on projects as small as a 90-minute Design Session and as large as full-service, Whole Home design. Our most common projects involve a Room Collection of two or three connected spaces, and Renovation Design projects to plan structural updates and/or custom cabinetry.
-
Yes. We regularly coordinate with builders and contractors, and can introduce you to builders we trust. Construction is contracted directly between you and your builder.
-
Renovation pricing comes from your builder, who knows the house and the work. We help you set a budget early and get a builder ballpark before final selections. Our Pricing page links to independent regional cost guides.
-
Yes. Many of our clients own second homes here. We are on Cape year-round to handle ordering, receiving, and installation, and keep you updated wherever you are.
-
It depends on scope and on lead times for furnishings, which vary widely. A Room Collection typically takes several months from discovery to installation day. Renovations depend on your builder's schedule. We'll give you a realistic timeline in our proposal.
-
Yes, if we start early. Furniture lead times and builder schedules are the main constraints, so fall and winter are the best time to start a project you want finished by summer.
-
Instead of a stream of deliveries that take significant time and effort to manage, your furnishings are received and inspected at a local warehouse, then installed together in one visit under our supervision. You arrive to see the space we envisioned together, brought to life in your home.
-
A receiving warehouse inspects every piece on arrival, stores it until everything is ready, and a white-glove team installs it. It protects your investment and saves you from waiting at home for deliveries. We can provide an estimate of this cost up front so it's part of the plan, but the warehouse determines the price.
-
Your home will reflect a personalized interpretation of “approachable modern” style. Our job is to understand how you live and what you love, and design around that. Some clients want relaxed coastal; others want something more formal, eclectic, or moody.
-
Yes. All of our Services (other than a 90-minute Design Session) include 3D modeling. The goal is to help us confidently envision layout, flow, and spacing before anything is ordered or built.
